Welcome to the world of Cromford Designs
Cromford Designs is one of the UK's premier providers of hand built, museum quality railway models. We concentrate mainly in Gauge 1, but can build in all scales from 0 Gauge to 5" Gauge.
Our models are of all metal construction, soldered and bolted together with no adhesives used except for putting glazing in! Models are produced from our own artwork and patterns, using photo-etching, profile milling and lost wax casting. Although we can build live steam models, we prefer to concentrate on electric powered models for greater detail. This can be 12v track powered as in the smaller scales, or radio controlled with on board power.
Our research is second to none. We regularly deal with experts in their fields who have access to archive drawings and information not commercially available.
Models are built to a standard that makes them rugged to survive hammering round a garden line or exhibition layout, and still look good in a presentation case.
